BOONE BRUX, Vice President
The writing bug bit Boone after her twin daughters were born and she left the work place. With adult conversation in short supply, she put pen to paper and began crafting stories to go along with the voices in her head. She currently makes her home in Anchorage Alaska after living in the bush for seventeen years. And though she's not married to a smokin' hot vampire pirate, she is pretty sure her husband has it in his genetic make-up.
Boone writes paranormal romance and has a soft spot for demons. She's a huge Harry Potter fan, and loves fast internet, indoor plumbing, and soft pillows.

TAMERA LYNN, Secretary and Critique Group Moderator
Born and raised in Alaska, Tamera Lynn has sold moose “nugget” jewelry to tourists, run a computer engraver, and stalked sunny Anchorage neighborhoods at midnight to sell Tupperware. She is currently the office “bully” (aka manager) at an engineering firm.
Obsessed with food gathering, her interests include High North farming, dipnetting salmon out of the mouth of the Kenai River, avoiding bears while picking wild blueberries, and hunting for moose with her husband and her two teenage children.
She graduated from Willamette University in 1992 with a degree in English and a minor in psychology. Since moving back to Alaska, she has written five manuscripts. She joined RWA in 2007 and is now the secretary of the Alaska chapter and the moderator for the weekly critique group.
Tamera writes contemporary romances set in Alaska, and her novels are filled with her own Arctic experiences.

DENISE WOODS, Treasurer / Membership Coordinator
In 1993, DeNise Woods came to Alaska to stay a year. She didn't leave, she got lucky (read what you will into that pun). She now reads as much as possible, gardens, and keeps 'Mr. Lucky' in homemade bread. She thinks writing is like life, so she keeps notes. |

JENNY BERNARD, Webmistress and Member-at-large
Jenny Bernard dreamed of being a writer ever since she learned the letter ‘A.’ After earning her BA in History and Literature, she began writing nightly promos for local TV news, which led to her move to Los Angeles, where she worked for the NBC affiliate. This didn’t quite satisfy the writing bug, so she also wrote screenplays and short stories, several of which were published in literary magazines. In December 2006, Jenny finally found her true writing love: romance! Around the same time, she decided to leave Los Angeles for the frozen North. Now she lives in Homer, Alaska, with frequent trips to the Big Island of Hawaii. She writes contemporary romance, but also publishes erotic romance under the name Juniper Bell. She's represented by Alexandra Machinist of the Linda Chester Agency.

MORGAN Q. O'REILLY, Member
Born in New Orleans, raised in California, Morgan moved with her family to Alaska in 1977. With a few years of escape back to California for college and more recently a few years in Colorado, Alaska is where she’s remained ever since. Married to a born and raised Alaskan, it is unlikely she’ll ever get to move “Outside” again. This could account for some of the oddities and attitudes in her writing. Or maybe that was the two years she worked with laser physicists. Or growing up around engineers. Or maybe it’s just her never ending imagination and the really strange dreams she has each night.
These days, Morgan is fortunate to spend her days engaged in writing, when she’s not tormenting her teen aged son, or knitting and critting with the AKRWA critique group. Morgan also blogs with her writing partner at The Morgan Diaries http://themorgandiaries.blogspot.com Visit her Web site for a list of all her networking and publishing links.

I came to romance writing in a roundabout way. I started writing a horror story about this Vampire and I got so caught up in his personality and the heroine’s that I knew they just had to be together. So it went - story after story from Science fiction to a tale of Amazon warriors - they all bubbled down to a powerful, romantic relationship that changed the characters lives profoundly. I have been a member of RWA and the Alaska Chapter since October of 2000. I would have to say, I don’t write typical romances but I do have strong romance elements in my stories. I enjoy beadwork, writing, music, photography, museums, history, biking, hiking, fencing and Tai Chi. When my husband and I get a chance we enjoy soaking in hot springs and traveling. Otherwise you can find us at home with our beloved cat Scud.

I was born and raised in Minnesota and, so, can imitate the accent in Fargo. I've been married to my husband, Jan, for 34 romantic years and I'm mom to Jennifer, 27, and Adam, 25. Our family also includes four horses, two dogs, two cats, a goat and a leopard gecko. I've been fortunate to live in Bremen, Germany; Wilhelmshaven, Germany; and Toronto, Canada—a year in each city. But no place rocks like Alaska rocks!!
I've been a beat reporter, a managing editor for two different agricultural publications, and have created many corporate publications and association newsletters.
I’ve always been drawn to hopeful, positive stories about how wonderful life can be given love and romance. And I really love stories with a moral/spiritual backdrop that reflect the faith I lean on every day. I write “faith on the edge” stories full of real-life situations but, mostly, full of sensuality and love.

Jackie is a native of Utah and attended the University of Utah on a full scholarship in Fine Art. She relocated to Wyoming for several years before moving to Anchorage, where she lives with her husband and their four children. She's a manager for a large service company. In her "spare time" between being a mom, a wife, and a businesswoman, Jackie can usually be found at her word processor, totally absorbed in another century while glancing occasionally at the magnificent, snow-capped mountain views through her windows. Lynn Lovegreen was lucky enough to grow up in Alaska. Her family moved there when she was six and they fell in love with the place, and she’s called it home ever since. She’s been in love with words all her life. She is working on her second book for publication. Combining her interests in romance and Alaska history, her first series concept is a set of sweet historicals set in the Alaska Gold Rush. When not writing, she enjoys spending time with her family and participating in Cowboy Action Shooting.
